Question by Kimberly:
9 week old baby being bottle fed expressed breast milk – eating every 2 hours?
I am feeding my 9 week old daughter breast milk from a bottle and have been doing so since she was a week old. She gets NO formula at all. She takes an average of 2.5-3 ounces per feeding and was eating about every 3 hours, but now wants to eat every 2 hours during the day. She just started sleeping from about 11 p.m.until 5 a.m. without waking up to feed. Is this normal? Is she adjusting her intake to make up for the missed feeding?

Question by di0nne:
Feeding issues in 16 week old?
My wee boy started having feeding issues about 2 weeks after his first immunisations. I thought it was due to him having a cold, however the problems have persisted even though the cold has now passed.
Typically he will only take 2 or 3 oz at a feed. Sometimes 4 or 5 at a push. Even this can be a battle, even though he is obviously hungry. He moves his head from side to side and gets upset and screams. He often gets so upset that he makes his body poker straight and tries to throw himself off my lap! Every so often he surprises me and takes 9oz without any fights, which just makes me more concerned about the other feeds which are problematic.
Initially I thought it was wind, so would stop him to have a burp, usually there are no burps and he then refuses to return to the feed. I do think he is teething (health visitor agrees), so give him some bonjela or teething powders before a feed, this doesn’t seem to help. I also spoke with pharmacist who thought it may have been reflux and tried infant gaviscon. The gaviscon certainly stopped him from bringing back up as much, but did not improve feeding time and made him constipated. I have tried size 3 teats but he finds these too fast.
I’ve spoken to various health visitors and my GP to no avail. I either get told he is being awkward or it is my fault as I am getting stressed about feeding him. Even though I disagree, I have tried to make sure I chill out and only offer him what he needs, but I am still concerned about this behaviour. He is on the 75th centile and currently weighs 7.12kg. I am not concerned about his weight and I do not think he is unwell as he seems happy and alert between feeds. I do not work to a schedule, he is demand fed. I just want feeding time to be pleasant for us both.
Any recommendations or advice?

Question by Bogan Mum:
2 week old gets nappy rash from using baby wipes, what else could we use?!
My son has really sensitive skin and gets nappy rash from baby wipes, we tried unscented ones and they didnt help either. For a while we used warm water and toilet paper but my babies physician said not to use it as it is too rough for his skin, however it helped his nappy rash. We have cream to put on but it hasnt helped either. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found anything good to use
Question by the shit:
My 6 week old baby’s eyes are watery and producing yellowish gooey stuff.. Is this normal?
She’s not acting like she’s sick at all, but for the past few days her eyes are overly wet looking and getting matted when she sleeps. Yellowish gooey stuff gets built up in inner corner of her eyes. What could this be? Clogged tear ducts or what? What should we do? We’ve been cleaning the stuff away with a tissue or q-tip.
Question by precious_van_1307:
how can i tell if my 5 week old baby has autism?
my five week old baby will not look anyone in the face. i know this is a sign of autism, but is it too early to tell, or is it that my child is still too young to like to look at faces?
Question by evansc1999:
Is it okay for my 4 week old newborn to sleep only in her bouncer during the day and with me at night??
I’m worried that my newborn will have problems transitioning to her crib, since she will only sleep in her bouncer during the day and with me at night. Did anyone else have a similar problem and if so, did your child have problems transitioning to crib?? Also, at what age did you try to wean your baby from co-sleeping.
Question by Pam:
why does my 11 week old refuse to nap in his crib?
My 11 week old baby sleeps great in his crib at night, but during the day he will not take a nap in his crib. He will only sleep in someone’s arms or a swing. Does anyone have any tips on teaching a baby to nap in a crib?

Question by Sarah:
Want another baby, but spouse doesn’t, had 26 week preemie and I am a vegan!?
My spouse and I have been together for over 4 years, we had a baby boy 3 1/2 years ago, he was born a preemie and spent 4 months in the hospital. He had many complications, breathing tubes, PDA clip, intestine problems, and almost died in the hospital. He is a healthy toddler now with no problems, so I am wanting another baby badly, but I am also scared that I might have another preemie and have to go through the same things. My old OBGYN told me there are drugs I could take so my chances are low on having another preemie, but I do not want to take anything that may harm my body in the long run. The reason I had a preemie is because I had had an abortion (Please do not judge me, I was addicted to cocaine and alcohol at the time) I was absolutely clean when I got pregnant with my son, and he was planned, so I did everything to have a safe pregnancy. I have been off drugs for over 5 years and I only drink once or twice a year, like one or two drinks max. I am in a very stable relationship and we own a home together so it’s not like I can get up and leave if he doesn’t want to give me another child. I dream about having another child and asked my spouse, but he’s afraid of having another preemie and what we went through. He is also worried that this is not the right time to bring a child in this world with the whole Obama Socialism stuff going on So I am stuck, I want a sibling for my son and he is against it. I love him and would never leave him over this, so I am really just looking for your views and is it possible to have a healthy pregnancy. There’s also another part to this, I have began a Vegan diet as of Feb of this year, so is it safe to be pregnant on a vegan based diet?
We are engaged at the moment, I just want to get married in Canada and trying to get both our families to get together is hard, because of race issues, he’s Muslim and I am American.
nothingconstant: Okay let me rephrase it, his family is Muslim and I am White and do not follow that religion, we want to get married in Montreal, Canada because that is where my spouse was born and it’s beautiful!
Professional Peon: I thought about adoption, but they do background checks and mine is not squeaky clean, I am not married, and my fiance is not an American citizen. I am very worried about having a preemie, but I also missed out on a lot of stuff when my son was born, like I wanted to breastfeed. That may not be important to some people, but it was and I would someday want another child to experience stuff like that, am I being selfish?
