What are the symptoms of H1N1 flu in an infant?
I’ve tried googling it but get nothing specific. Has your baby had it? How bad was it?

Question by jc2006:
Does anyone have an infant with asthma? What are the symptoms to look for in an infant?
When did it first appear? My daughter is almost six months and has allergies. My father had infantile asthma that disappeared after allergy shots, my husband had it pretty severe and it went away after dietery changes ten years ago. Sometimes she does this weird thing where she almost seems like she is hyperventilating…she has only done it a few times. Twice after crying hysterically and once the other day when there was a very cold wind chill.
My husband and friend (who is almost finished with her nursing degree) witnessed it and thought do to the circumstances it was normal. When she was crying her nose was running a lot and I could.t tell if she was having trouble breathing or if she was choking on her flem. My friend said, and mom agreed, that the cold wind is hard on their lungs, they aren’t used to it. (Now I make sure I cover her face up in the cold) I really want to know what other people’s experiences were so I know what to look for…and yes I will speak to the doctor.

Multiple symptoms with 1 year old baby girl?
This all started this day except the cracks in the corners of her mouth. That has been that way for about a week. Cracks on the corners of mouth with white stuff that will not wipe off, White patches on inside of cheeks, Small red dots on outside of genitals and groin area not very many put far apart, Temp 100.3. 2 hours later 99.0. Half hour later 99.9. Now normal. Eating, drinking, and sleeping good. Seems happy. Good amount of wet diapers, somewhat regular with bowl movements. No new foods or fluids, taking no medication, Had her 1 year old shots 9/3/08. Called her Doctor’s nurse and she said sounds like thrush sending a script for Nystatin and if has any symptoms of anything by Monday come in or if get worse in the next 24-48 hours go to Important Care. I know they do it all the time but can the give a diagnosis without even seeing her and prescribing medicine for it. Could this be anything other than thrush. I know that the meds will not work if it is a viral infection. But I am just wondering if this could be anything other than thrush or maybe more than just thrush.
Nobody has been sick around her. We are lets say very careful parents. She is our first so we can’t help it.
NOT TO BE RUDE BUT PLEASE READ THIS ALL SO YOU KNOW WHAT I AM ASKING. THANK YOU

Question by jennsuzy:
Why do babies get flu-like symptoms when they are teething?
My son has been teething for the majority of the past 6 weeks, and I was wondering why it is that they get fevers and runny noses, among other miserable symptoms, when they are teething. My son had a fever on and off for about a week with his last set of teeth. Now he’s got a terrible runny nose the past 3 days waiting for his 6th tooth to come through.
But he got his first 2 teeth at three months and they did not seem to bother him at all. I did not even know he was teething until the teeth were already through. No fevers, no crankiness. I wonder why those did not bother him, but now at 7-8 months they do bother him so much.

Question by mtk0519:
Does my son’s symptoms sound like Asperger’s Syndrome?
My son is 6 years old. He’s had 2 brain tumors removed within the past year. He has coordination issues along with some mental issues as well. We believed the issues stemmed from the tumor and PTSD from surgeries and all else that he had been through. Now, the more I am looking into Asperger’s, the more it seems like this is what he is suffering from. First, he is a very articulate 6 year old. He’s been called “genius” and “wise beyond his years” for as long as I can remember. He’s very very smart. He also gets hung up on certain things as well. Like right now, he is hung up on school. We play school every night. He has charts, tickets for good behavior, school work, etc. It’s a big deal to him if we miss a night He likes to sit and speak with adults vs. children. He can’t catch a ball or throw a ball very well. When we go to a playground, he doesn’t really play on the equipment. When we need to go to the store or church, he always puts up a big fight unless it’s for something he wants to do. We always thought he was just being stubborn and never really thought it might be something more. He’s very shy when around massive groups and when he sees his “friends” from school in public, he tends to put his head down and not say anything. His coordination problems were thought to be from from the tumor (in cerebellum) but it just doesn’t seem to be improving. His motor skills were delayed when he was an infant as well and there’s no way to tell if the tumor affected him then or not. His occupational therapist told us that she thought he had some signs of Asperger’s and so does his mental therapist. Now, I am in sit and wait mode until I get a referral to the right doctors. I was just curious if anyone had experience with Asperger’s and if my son’s symptoms were enough to say he does have it and what can we do to help the issue. Thanks for your time.

Autism: do babies display symptoms at an early age or later?
Just wondering if it is possible to notice symptoms of autism when your child is a few months old or when it can be diagnosed. What are the signs? I have seem a bit about it on the news recently and it has me interested. Thanks.
My son doesn’t seem to have any symptoms, but I have heard they can develop later. When does that happen if it does? What should I look for?
