Question by Maritime Mummy to 2 Little Imps!:
How much does breast milk change as a baby ages?
This sort of has me curious. I have expressed milk in the freezer from 3 months ago that needs to be used now or I will have to throw it away.
I know that breast milk changes with the baby’s needs and as they age. So that made me wonder if the milk that I expressed 3 months ago would be different than the milk I produce for my 11 month old now? And in thinking about that, I wondered if it would make any difference if a mom was working exclusively off breast milk stores that she might have stockpiled months before. Of course, it’s still great regardless, but does the breast milk composition change much as the baby ages? Would milk expressed for say, a 20 month old be as nutritionally solid for a newborn (In the case of donor breast milk)?

Question by busymomgo:
How much expressed breast milk should a 6 month old take?
A friend of ours has her 6 month old cared for during the day by another friend–and has since she was a newborn. The bottles have 2 oz of breast milk in them for her to have every 2 hours. She gives the baby a small amount of baby cereal once possibly 2x a day. Baby is not taking the bottles too well and when breastfed, only for 1-2 minutes. She says this is what happens at home at night, too.
Is there any guidelines how much a child should consume at different ages.. breast milk vs. formula? I am sure they’re not the same, and also we do not want the baby to become dehydrated.
Question by Ashley M:
How much does your newborn eat?
My son is 8 weeks old today, and his last weigh-in at the pediatrician’s office was 9lbs 3oz. He is breastfed exclusively through me, but fed with a bottle of expressed breast milk by my husband and babysitter. He eats 2oz per feeding, every 3 hours or so.
I was just curious what your 8 week old newborn ate… I know every baby is different and I know he’s eating enough, I was just curious, thanks!
Question by donttrustsheep:
Can a parent hold their infant too much?
I’m debating with my wife. I will admit whenever my daughter cries (she’s just under 3 months right now) I pretty much pick her up. I feed her when she needs it, change her when she needs it, and my wife comprehends that, but she thinks that if I pick her up every time she cries, that’s physically and mentally bad for her in the long run. Now, I comprehend that babies do cry from time to time just for attention or to just hear themselves cry (so I have been told), and I do comprehend that they need boundaries and know they can’t get what they want all the time, but I do not believe at this age you can really pick up and hold your baby too much when they want it. I know once they start getting older, and they want daddy to buy them candy or a toy that I can’t always give in, and that’s a good time to start setting the boundaries, but at barely 3 months, I think its safe to say by picking her up whenever she wants attention right now is not coddling her too much.
What are your opinions? Mothers, pediatricians, and anyone else experienced with baby’s. Thanks.

How much milk does a newborn drink? (Breastmilk)?
My baby is 3 wks old so I am starting to pump for works which I start first week in November. I am going to start feeding him from a bottle soon but I wanted to know roughly how much babies usually drink if it’s expressed breast milk? The other day I got a little over 2oz in 10 minutes but it was also off/on in that 10 minutes since it’s a manual pump.

Question by KB:
Why do my legs ache so much ?
I had a baby 4 mths ago. But just recently my legs are constantly aching right up into my lower back, mostly at night time. Apart from this I have no other symptoms, apart from a lot of hair loss. Which obviously means my hormones havent returned to normal. Im just wondering if anyone else had leg aches, I suffered with restless leg syndrome during the pregnancy. But not now. Many Thanks
Question by Sarah:
How much bleach do you use to clean an infant bathtub?
I want to get the infant tub super clean, but I have never used bleach before and have no clue how much to use. I know I am supposed to dilute it in water, but what kind of bleach/water ratio do I need? Is bleach even safe? I saw a commercial for Clorox that said it’s safe to use on baby toys and bottles, so I went ahead and bought some. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

19 weeks pregnant, have anemia and fear loosing my baby so much!?
I am 19 weeks pregnant and all seems fine, not had any problems. But i do have an iron deficiency that i have had from a young age. My physician has been worried but it hasn’t affected the baby. I have been given iron injections and tablets that have stabilized the level in my blood. I just can’t stop thinking about how bad it would be to loose my baby and its worrying me so much. Did anyone else have this problem?
