It's not the one that waas recalled then.

You can't get your money back unless it's the actual exact model they recalled.

Aw I know how it is worrying about your baby but you are doing fine. All babies flop their heads from time to time no matter how carefully you try to hold it. SBS only happens when parents aren't even trying to hold the head and allow it to flop all the time and when parents are being too rough either by accident because they dont know how to be gentle or on purpose because they lose control. Mostly you have to actually shake the baby back and fourth for SBS to occur. Try to relax a little and enjoy being with your baby rather than worrying about them getting hurt. I know its hard but as long as you are caring for them and the people around you are too then she will be fine.

Just remember she is two months old now and you are worrying this much then how are you going to feel when she tries to sit up and flings herself back, or is rolling over, and when she's crawling and walking. Of course your going to worry but if you get too overboard about it you will wind up either getting ill or stopping your child doing the things she should be.

Dont become one of these parents who bubble wrap their children and stop them experiencing the world.

Relax.
Hope this doesn't offend you I really am just trying to help.

You are doing all you can to protect her. Shaken baby syndrome is just what it sounds like. The baby is shaken like a martini jug and the brain bounces back and forth inside the skull. Her own movements shouldn't cause any problem or there wouldn't be a baby with a brain left in the world. Just do what you are doing and later on, do NOT become a helicopter parent -- one that hovers over her 12 year old for fear she will get sick, hurt or hear something that will damage her virgin ears. Kids are pretty well built to take the NORMAL amount of jogging around and what they hear won't kill them if you explain it to them rationally.

No,the vax doesn't work, catching chicken pox is the best type of immunisation because the baby is now immune for life.

Yes.

The maternal antibodies degrade. They have an average half life of about 14 days. 3 months and they are pretty much all gone.

Yes. Any immunity a baby gets from his mother wanes very, very quickly. It only lasts for weeks, at best a few months. The amount and type of antibodies passed to the baby depends on the mother's immunity. If mum has had chickenpox or the chicken pox vaccine, some of the antibodies will be passed to the baby.

But as I said, immunity wanes very quickly. So it's entirely possible he has it.

The child is not protected from it for a year, at most for a couple of months, but it is entirely possible that he has chicken pox.
