HOW MUCH SHOULD A TWO WEEK OLD NEWBORN SLEEP?
Apr 23rd
Question by Lala Lash:
How much should a two week old newborn sleep?
My son is 2 weeks and 4 days old. He seems to sleep so much which worries me, He is asleep more then he is awake. Im a first time mother and everything makes me nervous and I feel bad for calling the physician over everything so I figured I would ask on here before I call them again lol. But his routine seems to be he will sleep for around 2 to 3 hrs then wake up hungry, he will nurse for about 20 to 30 minuets then need a diaper change then go back to sleep. he doesn’t spend much time alert and awake. do you think this is normal?

BABY SLEEP ROUTINE….GOOD OR BAD?
Mar 25th
Question by Tabo:
Baby sleep routine….good or bad?
Personally, do you think giving babies a routine and pattern for sleep is good or bad? At what age should a pattern start? Shouldn’t one start teaching/ “training” your baby from day one? All views and thoughts welcome.

IT’S 3:05 AM AND AWAKE WITH INFANT?
Feb 25th
Question by utah mom:
It’s 3:05 am and awake with infant?
IT’s 3:05am and I am awake with my baby girl because she doesn’t want to sleep unless I am holding her, and I am so exhausted that when I hold her, I fall asleep and I do not wanna drop her, and so she is in her swing and I am soo tired.
She has been changed and also fed a bottle… she just wont sleep if your not holding her right now.
How long did it take you to get your infant on a sleeping routine, OR how do you do it to where you can also get some sleep at night? I started crying tonight because I am just so tired.
I’m off of work for now and my husband works and so he wakes up early and so I am awake with her at night on the days he has to work… I used to love the bed in our room to go to bed, but now its just depressing because I know I wont be able to sleep anyways.

WHAT ARE SOME GOOD SLEEPING AND FEEDING ROUTINES WITH A 5 DAY OLD, NEWBORN BABY?
Jan 27th
Question by Bigbob:
What are some good sleeping and feeding routines with a 5 day old, newborn baby?
My baby was just born last Wednesday and is 5 days old. The baby seems to be sleeping during the day more than the night. My wife is breast feeding and giving formula. Should I wake the baby up during the day so the baby could possibly sleep longer at night or should I let him sleep during the day? Should I give him milk every two to three hours wether it is breast milk or formula or should I give it to him when ever he seems to be hungry because he is so young? For example he seems to be hungry at night after like one hour, and we already had breast feed and gave him 2 ounces of formula? We would like to fully breast feed but not sure this is going to happen cause the wife is not producing enough milk. This is our second child and our goal (I am sure for all parents) is for the baby to sleep through the night and feed on regular schedules such as breakfast, lunch and dinner?
Does any one have any good recommendations with developing a routine for sleeping and feeding the baby?
Comments, feedback, and answers are greatly appreciated!!

INFANT SLEEP QUESTION?
Dec 29th
Question by tdangel30:
Infant sleep question?
I have a 7 month old who sleeps very well at night. (I really can’t complain) However, he has been waking lately around 6:30 and if we start the day that early for him, he is very, very cranky throughout the day. If I snuggle him in my bed, he will sleep another hour or so and is way more pleasant throughout the day. I guess my question is, how can I get him to sleep longer in his crib? He is bathed and we do have a nightime routine. He is on solid foods right now so I thought that would help. He has solids at breakfast, lunch, a bottle for a snack, dinner and then one more bottle. Should I change his feeding schedule? I know I am lucky he sleeps as long as he does but I just want him to feel superior each day.
Thanks for the help.

MY COLICY NEWBORN TRIPLETS ARE RUINING MY FAMILY’S SLEEP PATERNS???
Oct 31st
Question by Lydiann:
My colicy newborn triplets are ruining my family’s sleep paterns???
Right before we had our triplets (two girls and one boy) on July 24th, my husband and I had finally gotten our 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter into a routine sleep pattern.
But now, two of our 22 day old newborns (our son and one of the girls) are very colicy and are screaming at various points of the night.
Between the two of them, my husband and I are only getting about 2 hours of sleep a night. On top of that, their screaming keeps my six year old son, three year old daughter and the third triplet awake, making them physically eshausted and VERY cranky.
I am worrided about when school starts again, and I have to send my sleep deprived kids to school every morning.
The physicians have *hush, hushed* us, telling us that colic is normal and will pass with time. I know this is true, but I want to know what to do in the meantime!
Any advice is welcome, and please, if anyone knows anything about how to quiet a colicy baby, please help me!

BATHEING AND SLEEPING ROUTINES FOR NEWBORNS?
Oct 2nd
Question by * <3 Fiance&MommyTo2Men <3:
Batheing and sleeping routines for newborns?
My baby is 22 days old. As of last week it seemed like his sleeping habits were getting superior at night (feeding every 3-4 hrs only 3oz) but now all of a sudden it seems like for the last 3 days he’s up in the night every 1-2 hours (4oz) to eat! I comprehend that he’s a newborn but why the sudden change?? I have done research and they say if needing a diaper change do it as fast as possible, try not make make eye contact while feeding and not to speak while trying to put them back to sleep (I do all of these and still no positive results) plus we have been giving him a bath (lastnight) thinking that it would calm him and make him more sleepy but it almost seemed to do the opposite during the night… But when we bathed him during the day once (due to an accident) he slept pratically the whole entire day!! Am I doing something wrong??? I need help to try to adjust to this (I’m absolutely and absolutely exhausted! I take care of him 24/7-fiance works and is a very heavy sleeper *dont trust that he would stay awake*) please help me I am feeling almost desperate
Wow accident meaning he pooped everywhere! Are you seriously the closeminded??!!
