HOW CAN I SAFELY DISINFECT MY BABY TOYS?
Apr 27th
Question by :
How can I safely disinfect my baby toys?
I have two young kids that are close enough in age to share toys. I’m worried about them also sharing germs. My eldest has a cold, and I want to keep Sara from catching it. Is there a disinfectant wipe or a spray that’s safe to use on toys, highchairs, etc.? I’m worried that the chemicals in a spray will be worse than the germs.

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR TODDLER TO STOP SUCKING THEIR THUMB?
Apr 15th
Question by :
How did you get your toddler to stop sucking their thumb?
My daughter is only 15 months but we are having another baby around her 2nd birthday and wanted to stop her thumbsucking. She doesn’t suck her thumb in her sleep, but does when she’s tired, upset, zoned out or doesn’t feel good. Definitely a comfort thing for her. How do I correct this? Does anyone know of something safe I can put on her thumb? Two of her bottom teeth are already angled in and I do not want them to get worse. She used to take a pacifier when she was an infant but she started to take it out and suck her thumb at 4 months. Now, she thinks pacifiers are toys. She’ll put them in her mouth for a minute or so but then take it out when she’s bored with it or take it out when she wants to suck her thumb. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do? Thanks in advance.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR BABIES AGES 1, 2 & 3 THEY ARE FOSTER BABIES AND COMING TONIGHT, WE’RE NOT PREPARED! HELP!!!
Apr 3rd
Question by JackBlack:
What do I need for babies ages 1, 2 & 3 they are foster babies and coming tonight, we’re not prepared! HELP!!!
Ok, my husband and I are foster parents and usually take older (elm-middle school) kids, but we were called this morning with an emergency placement of 3 siblings… girls are 1 and 3 and a boy that’s 2.
We do not have ANYTHING baby related nor have we ever had babies of our own so I have a few “dumb” questions. CPS will be there to help, but I do not want to be unprepared or seem incompetent! I guess the main things I need to know are…
* what size/types of automobile seats (how old do children need to be to not use one or to face forward ect?)
* Food- what can they/can’t they eat at their age? Formula, bottles? or cups? baby food? ahh! hehe!
* what size clothes and shoes?
* What size diapers, do we need a baby potty?
* safe toys they can all share?
* Cribs, playpens, sleeping arrangements?
* anything else you think we need to know!!
Don’t get me wrong, we’ll take excellent care of them and do all the research we need to, but I have only got a few hours to run to Wal-Mart and get the essentials!
Their mother is in prison and father’s not in the picture, they are in a hospital now and will leave there this day and come to our home with just what they were wearing when they were taken from home. They are all healthy but all 3 tested positive for meth and marijuana – they were in the hospital to get through withdrawal. I wish they could come with a comforting item from home, but it’s not possible. I am so nervous, but excited and my heart just hurts for these babies, I really want our home to be comfrotable for them! Thanks so much for any/all input!!!
Oh, another question, all three can sit in automobile seats in the back of my husbands truck, but in my automobile one will have to sit in the front… is this legal/safe? I drive a company car- mini van, but there are only 2 captains chairs in the back, the last row was removed and replaced with a shelf?? Thanks!

WHAT SHOULD I USE TO WASH MY 4 MONTH OLDS BABY TOYS??
Feb 27th
Question by melaniemia7:
What should I use to wash my 4 month olds baby toys??
My baby puts everything in his mouth (just like every other baby I guess) and he loves to put his toys in his mouth. What should I use to wash his toys that would be safe?
He also has a toy with a sqeaker button, and this one can’t be submerged in water (I do not think). What should I use for it? Spraying it with Lysol probably is not safe, is it?

SAFE BABY TOY IDEAS?????
Feb 2nd
Question by bunnyluver:
safe baby toy ideas?????
for my health and social class, we have to make a baby toy. me and my friend are making a “touch and feel” toy for 6-12 month olds. so far we are putting these things on the toy (wwhich is a bear) : a crinkle paper arm, a mirror, taggies on one leg, a rattle in a leg, and we need something else for the other arm? i was thinking could sew little beads on to make a bumpy surface, but i dont know if this would be safe for a real baby?? …. what we are trying to do is make a toy which is educational for the baby, such as exploring new noises and feeling new materials, if the bead thing is not a good idea, can someone please give me some? thanks mmuchly (: xx
thankyou! lights are to complex considering its just a school assinment and we have to get our own materials and such, though i love the idea!… maybe i will just put bells inside to make the noise
xxx
