WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF SOMETHING YOU HAD FOR YOUR BABY IS RECALLED?
May 18th
Question by Adriana♥:
What would you do if something you had for your baby is recalled?
Well i was just looking at us consumer product safety commission and was looking at the baby recalls and about half way through i came across my sons swing…http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml07/07197.html
2 days ago he discovered that he could lean over the side of it and got stuck and this day when i was feeding him in it he kept leaning forward and i kept having to push him back and it was pretty dangerous and i would never leave him unattended in it the only thing i have used it for since he got stuck was for his feedings because we do not have a highchair and i just ordered one and it should be here by tomorrow but in the mean time i am using the swing only for feedings…he is 6 months old and i know he has now out grown it but do you think i should call and try to see if i can get my money back…by the way if you look at the link it says “Sold at: Discount department stores and toy stores nationwide from November 2006 to May 2007 for about $ 65.” and i bought it December 2008 should i try or leave it alone?

CAN CHILDREN BECOME PROACTIVE IN THEIR OWN SAFETY??
May 5th
Question by I_am_pure_energy:
Can Kids Become Proactive in their own Safety??
I’m always looking for ways to make my children’s life safer, but with more than half the products I have in my home that says, “Keep out of reach of Kids it’s hard to keep them safe. I have all the safety gadgets but they get into everything. I was reading a parent magazine and read a write-up called “Mr. No-No Saves Children’s Lives”. Read your kids the book then put stickers of Mr. No-No on things you do not want your kids to touch. It says they did a case study on infants to preteens and they documented a one-year-old baby would not touch anything Mr. No-No was on including his stuffed bear. So I went on line, I noticed there are a couple other safety characters, but they are stupid. Looks like allot of time and effort went into Mr. No-No. Some characters were just outright pathetic. Would it be easier for kids to learn to stay away from Mr. No-No or just try to keep teaching them all places & things not to touch? Check it out www.mrnono.com let me know what you think.

IS IT TRUE THAT “ALL CAR SEATS ARE THE SAME” …?
Apr 22nd
Question by ღ My baby girl is almost 2! ღ:
Is it true that “all automobile seats are the same” …?
My aunt has a 2 1/2 year old and this day she bought her a new automobile seat. The least affordable one that Graco makes from Wal-Mart. I am 7 months pregnant and on my registry I have a travel system with the infant automobile seat and then a convertible automobile seat – Alpha Omega Elite. I have done a lot of research and they get pretty much equivalent ratings as the Britax automobile seats, but I just like this one better. Anyway, she told me not to spend that much money on a automobile seat because “all automobile seats are the same”. I know that they all have certain safety measures that they have to meet, but there are some with extra features. I brought it to her attention that yes I might pay $ 180 for a convertible automobile seat, but I will not have to buy a new one, unless God forbid I am in a wreck or something, where as she buys automobile seats as my cousin grows. So really she has spent as much money upgrading automobile seats as I plan to, if I do not get it for my baby shower, on one automobile seat for my daughter, that will fit her up to 100lbs! I would just like opinions… Am I wrong? Are all automobile seats the same? I know that when I read reviews and product info, they do not all offer the same features.

IN NEED OF A CONVERTIBLE CAR SEAT, BUT WHICH ONE?
Mar 27th
Question by stephie691:
In need of a convertible automobile seat, but which one?
My dd is too long for her infant automobile seat, but is only 10 months old, so still needs to be rear facing. I have narrowed it to 2 possibilities for a convertible automobile seat but can’t decide between them. They are both safety 1st all in one convertible automobile seats but different styles. What are your thoughts? Here are links to both of them:
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp…
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp… (that’s the oakwood one)
I do not want to spend anymore than $ 150 (including tax and shipping) I can get both of these at different sites for under this. If you have any superior recommendations feel free to tell me. I have an 2002 chevy cavalier.
Thanks!!
Here are the links again sorry:

BABY FOOD AND FORMULA QUESTION?
Mar 14th
Question by Thifty Little Lady:
Baby food and formula question?
I found this this day on CNN. Does this concern you if you give your baby formula?
http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/09/15/china.formula/index.html
I do not formula feed, but I do use jarred baby foods and baby cereal as well.
Question: Do you worry about the safety/quality of such products when you hear these stories?
(This is not an attack on formula feeding, it is a question on the safety of commerical baby foods/milk. Let’s not start arguements ladies)

WHAT BABY PRODUCT COMPANIES DO YOU LIKE?
Feb 17th
Question by Jenn ♥Cadence Jade’s mum♥:
What baby product companies do you like?
Just curious what companies you like best…either like their products or find the company simple to deal with if you had any problems? I really like Evenflo stuff and I find both Playtex and Baby Einstein are great if you have a problem. Playtex replaced my leaky bottle nipples with no problems and Baby Einstein sent me a replacement top for my daughters mat when hers broke and I got it the next day! I however find Safety First is a pain…I requested info about a replacement canopy for my daughters stroller and its been over a week and I have not heard from them and I found the people at Huggies to be very rude. What companies do you like? Have you had any problems with companies?
Yeah Graco is pretty good too…I love their Pack N Play

CAR SEAT RECALLED AND I NEVER KNEW?
Feb 4th
Question by Busy Mommy of 3:
Car Seat Recalled and I Never Knew?
We purchased a Mia Moda Viva Supreme infant automobile seat for our son in April 2009. He was born in July 2009. The seat was recalled in October 2009 due to a metal harness splitter plate on the back of the automobile seat that has sharp edges that can cut the harness and the stay-in-car base can crack during a crash. I filled out the product registration card when we purchased it and mailed it back to them, I think I may have even registered it online. I did not receive any notification about this recall at all. I went on the website this day to look for a new stroller and found the recall information! I was so mad that my son has been riding in this seat for the last 8 months and I never knew that it was unsafe!
Have you ever had a automobile seat recalled? Did you get a notification from the manufacturer? Is not that what the product registration cards are for, to inform the consumer about recalls and product updates? If not, what are they for? Why do I waste my time filling them out if they are not going to notify me of something like this?
The reason we purchased this seat over others was due to it’s high safety ratings! How ironic!
On their website you have to input your seat’s serial numbers and manufacture date and then they determine if your seat is eligible for reimbursement. If it is then they send out a “return kit” in which you must cut out the seat belt and send it to them and they will send reimbursement when they receive it back.
