ROOM SHARING WITH A NEWBORN?
Apr 15th
Posted by admin in Nursery Decorating Ideas
Question by Heidi B:
Room sharing with a newborn?
My BF and I are anticipating our first child, a little girl. We have his children every other weekend. His daughter is 8 and his son is 6. Currently, they each have their own rooms.
However, the big debate right now is where to put them when the baby comes. His daughter has the bigger of the two rooms.
My idea is to put them together in her room, and redecorate it with a gender neutral theme. The baby would have his son’s room for the nursery. His sons room is markedly smaller than his sisters.
His idea is to put the baby and his daughter in the same room, since they are both girls.
I do not like this idea because when the baby wakes up crying in the middle of the night, it will wake up his older daughter. And to be frank, I do not want to miss out on the chance to decorate my first nursery. Mostly, though, I do not think it would be a good idea for a 8 year old girl to be woken up every other hour or so because I am in there feeding, changing, or soothing the baby.
Suggestions?
I also think that if the baby had her own room we could shut the door to the children room so the sound of her crying is muffled, so they can sleep better.

DECORATING MY BABY GIRLS NURSERY, CAN ANYONE GIVE ME IDEAS?

Question by Mama to 2 princesses:
Decorating my baby girls nursery, can anyone give me ideas?
I asked this question a few days ago, and I only got 4 answers… so I was wondering if I can get more answers out of you guys?!
We are moving in the fall, our daughter will be 11-12 months around that time. We want to give her a room that will last her until she is old enough to want to change it to her own taste. This is the bedding she has:

We have oak furniture in her nursery now, but we are planning to buy her all white furniture (like in the picture) and use the other furniture for baby #2 (which we will ttc in a few months).
Any ideas on how to decorate and paint her nursery? What colours, designs and accessories?
Thanks.
Ps- I do not really want to keep the walls white.
I’m so sorry about the link.
Here it is:

IDEAS FOR REDECORATING MY CHILDRENS’ BEDROOMS AND MY BABY’S NURSERY?
Dec 24th

Question by Mommy of 5 littlies!:
Ideas for redecorating my childrens’ bedrooms and my baby’s nursery?
Ok, I live in a five bedroom house. One bedroom is used for my husband’s study and a spareroom for visitors. My twin 6 year old girls have their own rooms, and my three year old son has his own room. My three week old baby is sleeping in mine and my husband’s room.
We want to move our newborn into her own room, so we’re moving the twins in together into the biggest room on the middle floor (we are on the third floor). Since this is currently my son’s room, we need to redecorate it. We also need to redecorate one room for my newborn girl (it hasn’t been decorated for six years) and a room for my three year old son.
I need ideas! We need one room for a baby girl, one room for a boy to last roughly from age 3 – 10. And a room to last for two girls roughly from age 6 – 12.
I was thinking for my son to have a pirate theme? Two white walls, one blue wall and one blue and white striped wall. All the floors are wooden so we could put a red rug in, then put signs like ‘walk the plank’ up around the room and I even found a pirate duvet cover to buy here:

I need ideas for girls’ rooms. I DONT want typical a pretty pink, princess room for my six year olds. I do not mind doing that for the baby nursery though.
Sorry – what is a comforter?
I am from England!

HOW TO DECORATE/ORGANIZE THE NURSERY?

Question by Nichole Nelson:
How to decorate/organize the nursery?
I am having a little girl soon and I do not know how I should decorate the nursery. Any ideas? I do not want to go overboard on price because we will be moving in a matter of months, and it will all go to waste. Maybe you could give me some ideas on how to decorate using items that can be taken to our new home when we move? Also we are having trouble organizing all of her stuff. Could you give me some cheap storage ideas (clothes, baby bath items, diapers, shoes, etc.)? Any tips on parenting a newborn will be appreciated as well. Thank you ahead of time! I will choose a ideal answer soon so good luck!

DECORATING NEWBORN’S NURSERY AND TWO YEAR OLD ROOM?
May 11th

Question by Ally Fox:
Decorating Newborn’s nursery and two year old room?
My husband and I are starting on my twin’s room this week. We are moving my two year old out of her old room into a bigger room to fit her superior and my boys will be taking over her old room.
The boy’s room currently:
Walls-chocolate brown with pink flowers
floor- dark mahogany flooring
ceiling- white with pink butterflies on it
furniture- http://www2.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=19a7b0c&DeptID=70676&CatID=77448&SO=0&Ne=5+18+904+949+833&N=4294940794&Nao=0&PSO=0&cmAMS_T=XGN3&cmAMS_C=MERCHA&cmAMS_Z=XGN3TOPOFRESULTS&CmCatId=62438|62702|77448
As you can see lots of work to be done here and we really need idea’s on how to decorate this for two twin boys.
My daughters room currently:
Walls- white
floor- dark mahogany flooring
ceiling- white
bed- Princess Emily Twin Canopy Bed(white)
furniture- wooden dresser(white with ballerina slippers carved on the sides)
This room we have only used as a toy room so we have not decorated it. My daughter is in ballet for toddlers and loves to dance. So we thought maybe we could do it in ballet stuff but are lost as to where to find the stuff for it.
I would also like help on how to help my daughter like her new room.
Ideas and tips would help! Thank you.

CUTE NURSERY DECORATING IDEAS?

Question by Proud Mummy Of Twins
:
Cute Nursery Decorating Ideas?
I’m anticipating twins (24 weeks this day and JUST found out it’s twins)!
I figured I’d be superior off posting in Newborn and baby section as people with babies can share their nursery ideas with me!
I’m unsure of sexes, so ideas for boys and girls and unisex are welcome!!
I’m also unsure of whether to put them in separate rooms or keep them together, I am thinking if it’s two girls or two boys I will keep them together but a girl and a boy I will give them different rooms, as I have enough space to do so.
So any ideas you have are welcome, and photos are extra appreciated!
Thanks! (:
