Question by kksunshine:
Wall paint colors for a good mood?

Ok I am pregnant with my first child and wanting to decorate a nursery. I remember in Cosmetology school that we learned about different colors that were good mood enhancers. I know that they stated red makes you “angry” and blue is “calming” does this apply to children’s rooms? If so, what are good colors for newborns to look at?

Answer by goldwing
I am not one to paint rooms as stand-alones! I want them to be harmonious with the rest of the house…and I hate pink, hate blue! Toned down yellows are happy feeling. Earth tones are mellow, quieting. Take a look at the rest of your home and find color (s) that go with it, then select paints that calm Mommy…the baby is not going to care much here! But there will be times when Mommy needs to be calmed! Good luck, and congratulations!

WHAT THEME AND/OR COLOR IS YOUR NURSERY? http://birthpolicy.org/412/what-theme-andor-color-is-your-nursery/ http://birthpolicy.org/412/what-theme-andor-color-is-your-nursery/#comments Wed, 10 Nov 2010 18:49:42 +0000 admin http://birthpolicy.org/412/what-theme-andor-color-is-your-nursery/ Question by ησєℓℓє [keep calm and carry on]:
What theme and/or color is your nursery?

Even if you do not currently have a newborn, but you have older or even grown children: think back!

Even if you are pregnant with your first child: how did you/do you plan on decorating it?

Even if you do not have childen yet and are not expecting: how would you decorate it?

I’m not pregnant, but I do hope to have children in the future. And I am curious to see all the different themes and colors of nursery’s there are out there. Maybe even look for future ideas. Thanks for answering! :)

CAN ANYONE HELP ME IDENTIFY AN INFANT CARRIER I SAW? http://birthpolicy.org/349/can-anyone-help-me-identify-an-infant-carrier-i-saw/ http://birthpolicy.org/349/can-anyone-help-me-identify-an-infant-carrier-i-saw/#comments Wed, 10 Nov 2010 18:48:01 +0000 admin http://birthpolicy.org/349/can-anyone-help-me-identify-an-infant-carrier-i-saw/ Question by brenga:
Can anyone help me identify an infant carrier I saw?

The carrier is neutral colored ( beige and brown mostly) with small lions and giraffes. I am designing a gender neutral baby nursery in a safari theme and the fabric of this automobile seat is the perfect match. Mainly I am hoping someone can tell me the brand so that I can get a superior look at the fabric.

WHAT ARE A COUPLE OF GOOD COLORS FOR A BABY BOY NURSERY? http://birthpolicy.org/256/what-are-a-couple-of-good-colors-for-a-baby-boy-nursery/ http://birthpolicy.org/256/what-are-a-couple-of-good-colors-for-a-baby-boy-nursery/#comments Fri, 29 Oct 2010 07:53:45 +0000 admin http://birthpolicy.org/256/what-are-a-couple-of-good-colors-for-a-baby-boy-nursery/ Question by MAC’s Mommy:
what are a couple of good colors for a baby boy nursery?

my man and i are starting to discuss what we want for nursery colors.

We’re thinking maybe a yellow and maroon. he states that that is not very boyish….but since the baby wont know the difference anyway, i do not see why it would be an issue….. what do you think. and what colors would you, are you going to, or did you use?

p.s. we do not want to do blue, just because our room is blue and the rooms are right next to each other.

I WANT A MILITARY THEMED NURSERY FOR MY INFANTS, IS THIS POSSIBLE? http://birthpolicy.org/203/i-want-a-military-themed-nursery-for-my-infants-is-this-possible/ http://birthpolicy.org/203/i-want-a-military-themed-nursery-for-my-infants-is-this-possible/#comments Mon, 18 Oct 2010 09:06:51 +0000 admin http://birthpolicy.org/203/i-want-a-military-themed-nursery-for-my-infants-is-this-possible/ Question by Brielle:
I want a military themed nursery for my infants, is this possible?

My husband is a Marine. I really like the digital theme on his camis. I thought it would be neat to do that kind of theme for my infants nursery. We are anticipating twins, a boy and a girl, in 3 months. They will be sharing a room, but they will have separate cribs. I was hoping to find a digital pattern that is a shade of blue and or green for the boy and pink and or purple for the girl. I think this would be the perfect touch to the nursery. I’d really like the digital camo print, but I will settle for regular camo, just as long as it’s the colors I want. Can anyone help me out?

Those are really cute, but like I said, I’d really like to have the digital print.

NURSERY THEMES FOR TODDLER AND INFANT? http://birthpolicy.org/136/nursery-themes-for-toddler-and-infant/ http://birthpolicy.org/136/nursery-themes-for-toddler-and-infant/#comments Sat, 18 Sep 2010 20:03:44 +0000 admin http://birthpolicy.org/136/nursery-themes-for-toddler-and-infant/ Question by liam’s mommy due 9/24/10:
Nursery Themes for toddler and infant?

We are having our second boy at the end of summer. My 2 yr old and baby will be in the same room. I want to use bright colors and paint a mural on one of the walls to make it fun for my older son. The theme ideas we have and like so far are:
under the sea
dinosaurs
space/rockets
dogs
bugs

Any other ideas? Which theme do you like the best?

——————————————

Answer by Brianna S
my brother’s room when he was a kid was split into two colors- top half of the wall and the ceiling was blue with clouds, the bottom half was brown (sky and dirt) and there were dinosaurs- kinda like wall paper that stuck to the wall

ARE THERE NURSERY COLORS THAT HELP BABIES DEVELOP BETTER? http://birthpolicy.org/30/are-there-nursery-colors-that-help-babies-develop-better/ http://birthpolicy.org/30/are-there-nursery-colors-that-help-babies-develop-better/#comments Fri, 20 Aug 2010 07:02:48 +0000 admin http://birthpolicy.org/30/are-there-nursery-colors-that-help-babies-develop-better/ Question by czekit7:
Are there nursery colors that help babies develop better?

I remember hearing that black, white and red help a baby developmentally in the first year of life, instead of the pastels and bright colors. Is this true? And if there are more helpful colors for a babies development, are they black, red and white? If not, what are the colors?

——————————————

Answer by Madi K
i dont think they help baby develop as much as contrasting colours are just more visually stimulating for them. they enjoy looking at black and white patterns and stuff like that
