Caring for Baby’s Belly Button
AINT NO MOUNTAIN HIGHER LOL!?
Apr 25th
Question by ♥♡Dreamer♥♡:
Aint no mountain higher LOL!?
My baby boy makes moutains in my belly. He pulls out my skin as if he wants to rip it and go out from my belly button.
Are all babies strong like mine?? He goes so high that sometimes I say he sat in there And of course, this helps to get more stretchies Which I dont care anymore as long as he is having fun

MUMMY AND DADDIES, EVER HAD A PREMATURE BABY?
Feb 12th
Question by Bella:
Mummy and daddies, Ever had a premature baby?
Hey Mummy and Daddies.
I just had premature baby, born 22nd May 2010. My gestation was 27 + 5 days. I had a gorgoues baby girl.
I got rushed into hospital weekend before with vaginal bleeding down below, they kept me in over night and checked up on me but i was not dilated at all. The next morning came and the physician came round and told me that i was fine and ready to go home my bleeding also had stopped and that i should get a scan booked to check everything is okay. However the scan never happened, unfortunatly.
I got sent home later that day feeling fit as a fiddle and knowing (well thought) my baby girl was great.
During the week i felt cramp in my abdomen but just mild cramp as if you were on your period, ladies. But didnt think anything of the sort.
Then the friday came and i was just sitting at the dining table and decided to feel my stomach and i touched my belly button and it was really sore to touch and very sensitive but then again thought nothing of it again…silly me. The following night early saturday morning was round about 4 am and i woke up with very strong period like cramp but turned over and went back to sleep ovbiously still in pain. Then about 9 am saturday morning i woke up with the same pain but worse so i decided to go to the toilet and see if the pain would go if i had a wee, but i was still in pain then boom came the contractions!
less than 3 minutes apart they kept on getting worse, then all of sudden blood gushed out..i was with my partner when this happened and i just started crying knowing i was in more danger than the weekend before!
I rang the ambulance and they came out took me straight to maternity but on the way there it was getting worse, it was unbelievable. I could not get out of the ambulance i had to be helped down onto a wheel chair and was rushed straight into delivery suite. As i got in i could not move, got rushed in onto the bed and got told i was fully dilated, they told me i needed an emergency cesarean.
Once i came round from the Operation i had a beautiful baby girl and i named her Summer she weighed 2 pounds 7 oz. She got transfered to special care baby unit in another hosptial, she has now been transfered back to the hospital she was born at.
Summer is now currently still in hosptial and is 1 month old today, shes getting a lot superior and is now 3 pounds 6 oz! I could not be any more proud, shes gorgoues.
I was just wanting to know if any of you mummy or daddies have ever had a premature baby and your experiences :-
Labour
How your baby is doing
How old they are now
How hard it was to go through times like this
What process they went through in hospital
and anymore you wanna add.

DOES THE LINEAS NEGRA INDICATE BABY’S GENDER?
Jan 18th
Question by Niamhy:
Does the Lineas Negra indicate baby’s gender?
I was reading a bit up on it, and I read a few places that its an old wives tale that the lineas negra (the line that forms down your belly during pregnancy) can determine the gender of the baby. if it stops at your belly button youre having a girl, if it goes up to your sternum, it is a boy.
Anyone care to prove or disprove this? Just curious is all!

WILL I GET A ROUND PREGNANT BELLY BEING OVERWEIGHT?
Oct 12th
Question by Mommy to Mia:
Will I get a round pregnant belly being overweight?
I am 19 weeks 3 days pregnant. I am desperate for a pregnant belly! I am 5’4” and prepregnancy I was 208lbs. I have only gained 7lbs. I have been in maternity pants since I was 16 weeks. I have what some people call a “double belly” (my stomach splits horizontally in the middle at my belly button). It’s not that big honestly, about an inch or so. I can feel my uterus right below my belly button now and I have started feeling the baby moving. It is a very exciting time!!
But…I can’t help but continue to wonder when I will get a round pregnant belly. When will I pop out? Will the top of my stomach fuse with my lower stomach? When do you think this will happen? People tell me they can’t tell I am pregnant and are shocked when I tell them I am almost 5 months. It is very upsetting for me. I am desperate for a round pregnant belly and have been since I found out we were expecting.
Someone out there has had this problem, I know it! Please let me know how your pregnancy went and then you started to show. I appreciate any kind of story or situation like mine. (Please keep your diabetes/overweight comments to yourself, me and my physician are dealing with my weight, I walk and take care of myself everyday).

WHAT IS GROWING OUT OF 6 MONTH OLDS BELLY BUTTON?
Aug 24th
Question by Kathleen M:
What is growing out of 6 month olds belly button?
My son is 6 months old. His umbilical cord stump fell off really late, he was a month old. Ever since he has had this little bit of scar tissue and a white hard dot about the size of a small beed. It actually looks just like a big white head, but its not. Its hard. It doesn’t bother my son. His physician said it was a granuloma, then she changed her mind and said just scar tissue (there is some pink csar tissue arround it, which i am not worried about but that does not exlain the hard spot). I saw another dr who said it might be a granuloma or cyst, but was probably a piece of cord which the skin grew over.
It seems to grow slightly bigger as my baby grows. Has anyone ever heard of this? I have spent countless hours researching and have found nothing. I do not care about what it looks like, i just do not want this to harm my son in any way. Please help
