Restless Legs Syndrome
QUESTION ABOUT NEWBORN’S EYES…?..AND KNEES…?
Nov 15th
Question by Miss Jina:
Question about Newborn’s eyes…?..and knees…?
My daughter is 2 weeks old…and each day on and off I notice that her pupils go to the middle a lot. It looks like she’s trying to look at her nose or something…..I’m afraid that she’s cross-eyed or something….? Is this normal newborn behavior…or no?
Me and my mother have a problem with our knees. My knees crack and pop a lot…and I have a serious case of restless leg syndrome…..my newborn’s right knee is always cracking when I am handling her…..is that normal….or did she get handed down my knee problem?

HOW DO I HELP MY 4YO SLEEP IF SHE HAS VERY RESTLESS LEGS?
Nov 15th
Question by bearcatcs03:
How do I help my 4yo sleep if she has very restless legs?
Ever since my daughter was an infant she has been very restless at night. About an hour after she falls asleep, every night, she starts to violently kick and she seems to be in pain but still half asleep. She kicks and locks her knees, to the point where I have gone in her room and she has busted my lip from kicking so hard. Physicians are wary of diagnosing restless leg syndrome bc of harsh side effects of the medication. We have to massage her legs to get her to calm down. It’s become hard for her and us parents to sleep at night. Any recommendations on how to help this?

CAN INFANTS HAVE RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME?
Nov 10th
Question by luvlandon2006:
Can infants have restless leg syndrome?
My 7 month old son tosses and turns from 4 am to 6 am, when we finally decide will not be going back to sleep. He wimpers and flexes his legs and constantly tries to push his feet against something. I used to think it was gas, but now that he’s older and we’ve regulated his diet, I believe there is something bothering his leg muscles. When I try to comfort him by massaging his legs, I can feel little tightenings behind his knees when he is lying still, like muscle spasms. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to help him? We are both exausted in the mornings from trying to remain asleep through his pain, and I feel so bad for him.
Actually there is infant RLS, but I just wanted to know if anyone had delt with it before. Of course, I would not medicate him or anything like that. And if I do not rub his legs, he will not sleep at all during that time!

CAN MY BABY HAVE RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME?
Nov 10th
Question by guesscookie88888:
can my baby have restless leg syndrome?
my son seems like he cannot sleep or rest becasue he is always moving his legs, he rubs them together adn keeps everyone up at night from it. i thought it was adorable at first but now im a little worried its getting out of hand. he bangs them on the floor (he is only 5 months old so he isnt very mobil yet) and he violently kicks anything or anyone that gets in the way of his legs. is this normal?
also he scratches blankets or any flat surface (mattresses, couches, shirts, somtimes counters). i tried to just cut his nails shorter but somhow he still manages to scratch things that make noise when he does it. im not too worried about that (even thought it hurts my face somtimes) but the legs bother me.

CAN BREASTFEEDING TRIGGER RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME?
Oct 3rd
Question by daughtry_fan:
Can breastfeeding trigger restless leg syndrome?
For the past two nights when I am lying in bed breastfeeding my newborn, my left leg has been bothering me with the restless leg feeling. I have had restless legs off and on for years, but it’s never been bad enough to really bother me. My mother, on the other hand, has really suffered with RLS for years to the point that she rarely sleeps or sits still for any amount of time and she’s takes Requip for it too.
What I really want to know is does breastfeeding trigger RLS? And, is there anything I can do to make it less bothersome? I am already not getting much sleep because I have 4 boys ages 11, 8, 3, and 2 weeks old and I need some rest so that I can be productive and more energized with my kids.

CAN BABIES HAVE RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME?
Aug 20th
Question by Larisa B:
Can babies have restless leg syndrome?
My husband and I adopted a little girl a little over a month and a half ago.. Ever since she has been with us when she is going to sleep she has to move her feet, kicking and having to move her legs all the time (even sleeping her feet are always moving sometimes waking her up). I have heard a ton of things on the tv about adults having restless leg syndrome and I was wondering if a infant could have that. I am going to the dr next week but I am just wondering if anyone else has a baby diagnosed with this.
