Restless Legs Syndrome

My son, age 6, has started having bizzare episodes of heading bobbing in all directions that sometimes moves down to his trunk and then his legs. Sometimes one leg will kick. These episodes can last from a split second to a couple of minutes. During this time, he continues playing or doing whatever it was that he was doing. I can see him trying to stop the shaking which causes him to have forceful jerking moveents. A couple of times he has grabbed his head with his hands. Sometimes he will blink about 50 times before this happens. He also has a tannish-colored raised and scaly patch of skin along his left trunk that started at birth as a small quartered sized patch. It does not bother him. It reminds me of cradle cap that newborns get but it has a more sand paper-like feel to it. I was able to video tape an episode of his head bobbing in all directions that happened six times in a nine minute period. I showed his pediatrician. The physician set referrals for an EEG and is having us see a neurologist in 3 weeks. The physician also noticed that one of his pupils was larger than the other, so we are being sent to an eye specialist. I have noticed that about 90% of the time his head is slightly moving in all directions. Not enough where many people notice, just his daddy and I. We were told to take him to the hosital if the duration or the amount of these episodes increase, or if we see anything new such as breathing difficulty. I am terrified that he has a disease, syndrome, tumor or such. Also, he has a ganglion cyst on his arm that is roughly the size of a kernel of corn. No biggy, but I thought I would add that incase someone can link these odd symptoms together for me. He is very bright and very active. He has a lot of trouble focusing on school work and is about a year behind his classmates. He is very capable of doing the work, but he cannot focus long enough to do more than a page or so at a time. He speaks alot! He has been in speech therapy since he was 3, and has done very well. He is pretty much always understood now. Also, he has not ever slept through the night!!! He whines in his sleep, kicks, head butts, and is generally very restless. If anyone could give me any insight as to what could be going on, I would greatly appreciate it.
