BABY HAS HIGHER TEMPERATURE SINCE VACCINATION?
May 21st
Question by Meenzer:
Baby has higher temperature since vaccination?
Hello, my baby received his 4 month vaccinations yesterday and has a higher temperature since. Yesterday, he had 99.68 after the vaccinations and this morning he has been fussy and has 100.76. I gave him Tylenol for Kids yesterday (2 drops) but the temperature did not seem to go down. He is a little fussy but still smiles and talks.
What should I do, should I give him some more Tylenol or call the pediatrician?
Thank you for your answers.

MY 8 YEAR OLD MAY HAVE CHICKEN POX…WHAT ARE THE CHANCES MY 3 MONTH OLD WILL GET THEM?
May 19th
Question by rubiofamily_777:
My 8 year old may have chicken pox…what are the chances my 3 month old will get them?
Also is extremely bad if my 3 month old gets them? I have no idea where my 8 year old could have picked them up…going to the DR this day to see if that’s what they are for sure, but I am so worried what will happen if my 3 month old gets them. Anyone have or know of infants who got chicken pox?
My 8 year old did get the vaccine, but only 1 so far…I think they’re supposed to get 2.
Also I have had chicken pox as a child and am breastfeeding my 3 month old…don’t know if that helps her chances?

FOUR MONTH OLD DAUGHTER, IN A MALARIA AREA, OTHERWISE VIGOROUS, HAS CAUGHT A DRY COUGH AND HAS SLIGHT FEVER.?
May 18th
Question by tahlasimsim:
four month old daughter, in a malaria area, otherwise vigorous, has caught a dry cough and has slight fever.?
We just got into the malaria area from the highlands. We have been advised only to use Calpol (baby paracetamol) only one every eight hours, Wait and see, but do not use and sp (sulphamene pyrodoxine). What risks should I know about for an otherwise fighting fit smiling infant? She could have malaria; we are using a prophylaxis (250mg one dose per week).

FOR PARENTS WHOSE INFANT HAS COME DOWN WITH THE H1N1 FLU?
May 18th
Question by ❥Proud Mommy:
For parents whose infant has come down with the H1N1 flu?
How did the symptoms begin?
My son (10 1/2 months old) has been coughing here and there tonight in his sleep and it sounds hoarse. I am concerned because I have read that a progressing cough is a symptom of the flu. He hasn’t had a cough until this point.
What did the physicians do to treat your baby?
How severe was it? Explain your story… please. I need some reassurance because I am scared of him catching this and it becoming life-threatening
I am taking him to the physicians regardless tomorrow just to be on the safe side.

I know that kinda sounds dumb given that some people have serious morning sickness, but I am wondering how “violent” throwing up does not hurt that little one inside.

BABY ON BACK OR SIDE?
May 12th
Question by JJ:
baby on back or side?
In NZ (where I live) the Ministry of Health advocates babies sleep on their back ONLY to help prevent SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome -cot death) However I see so many babies/toddlers these days with funny looking flat heads. ‘They’ say to get around this to alternate babies head from side to side while on back but I have still noticed that babies heads still end up with a flat spot.
Yesterday I bought a wedge thingy which you use to prop your baby on its side so it can sleep safely without rolling onto its front, has anyone used these and found them good?
What are your views on baby sleeping positions/ flat heads etc etc?
I am 34 weeks preg with #1
