AM I ABLE TO BREAK A LEASE IN THIS SITUATION IN REGARDS TO THE HEALTH OF MY NEWBORN?
Apr 30th
Question by :
Am I able to break a lease in this situation in regards to the health of my newborn?
I just renewed my lease when i shouldn’t have because i figured that my apartment complex would handle the problem. Not sure if the mold is my fault but i do not think it is because i have lived in several other places and i take showers the same way and had no mold or mildew. When i moved into the apartment i thought i saw a couple black spots but i did not think anything of it because i have never saw mold or mildew and the manager told me that she would make a note of it and have the housekeeper clean it asap. the housekeeper never came to clean it and i noticed that it has gotten real worse and i can hardly clean it without almost passing out from the cleaning fumes because i want to do something about it. the ceiling was leaking and the ceiling is brown and discolored and i am humiliated to even have anyone over.
I am currently 17 weeks pregnant and my lease is not up until october of 2011. i am due in march of 2011. i am from greensboro, nc and have recently saw two stories on the news where newborns have died from mold and mildew in their home or apartment.
the dad of my unborn child brought the two stories to my attention on the news because i was in the lavatory and he kind of demanded that i move and that he would help me in any way because his child is not about to die from that mess that i have in my bathroom. the dad of my child often comes and stays over at my home to check up on me and he has asthma and allergies and he says the dust and mold has to be getting to him because he is not usually this bad. he wakes up in the middle of the night sometimes coughing like he is about to die and it scares me allot.
bottom line do you think it is legitimate to break my lease and not get into too much trouble because i want to make sure that my unborn child has a safe place to stay when he or she arrives into this world?

Question by nerdy:
flat head syndrome….I am worried please help?
My baby is a premie (31 weaker) I have been noticing that her head is becoming flat from back. I have been very worried about this issue , took her to two different physicians both of them said that it will get superior with time and to use pillow having hole in the middle . Well I have been using that for quite some time now. One dr said that because she is a premie that is why it is the way it is.
What can I do ? I put her in different sleep positions but I feel that her head should be rounder.

SHOULD MY BABY GET THE FLU SHOT?
Apr 28th
Question by angieboo ☆:
Should my baby get the flu shot?
His appointment is next week and he’s 7 months. I am afraid that he will get a fever from the shot but then again I do not want him to get sick from the flu. Now, I am pretty good at keeping him away from sick people. I am VERY strict when it comes to my baby’s health. I am 20 and have not receive the flu shot, ever. But what should I do? I want him to get the flu shot but I am not 100%. Thanks for the responses!
His pediatrician said it’s necessary and she gave me a whole month to think about it.

MY BABY HAS A STRANGE, GREEN/YELLOW DISCHARGE IN HER EYE…?
Apr 28th
Question by :
My baby has a strange, green/yellow discharge in her eye…?
I know what you may be thinking… that it’s a viral or allergic infection known as Conjunctivitis. And that may be so. But here is what is strange and what I cannot solve by searching on the internet:
My baby is 19 weeks, or rather a little over 4 months old now. She was born perfectly healthy, but a few days after developed a conjunctivitis in both her eyes with greenish-yellow mucous in the inner-corners that would crust overnight. A week later it was gone. And then within two weeks after that it developed once more in ONLY her left eye. She was almost a month old when it started. And it is STILL there. It will not go away.
Her pediatrician told me it was a bacterial infection known as conjunctivitis and that it was contagious. He prescribed me this ointment to apply to her eye in a little white tube and I would squeeze it into the lower eyelid and inner-corner.
She still has a watery eye each day with greenish mucous that crusts over unless I wipe it away. Sometimes her eye gets red and irritated because she claws at it so much. I feel so bad for her and do not know what more to do. Her physician acts like it’s not a big deal and I am a hair’s width away from changing pediatricians because of it.
So, if there’s anyone out there that may know why she has had this for 3 months, please let me know why or what it could be that’s causing it. So far, she has no known allergies to foods, formulas or detergents, so I doubt it’s allergic.
Thank you.

Apr 17th
Question by I am Sweating:
Are you getting your baby the flu vaccine this season?
Normally, I would not get vaccinated for the flu, but I just got over something like the flu and it was horrible and DO NOT want my 9 month old to even have a chance at getting the flu, but I am nervous of how harmful the vaccine can be.
So, who is doing it and who’s not doing it and why?
