WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF A NEWBORN GETTING MULTIPLE HEPB VACS W/IN 24 HOURS?
Nov 13th
Question by mariacunning:
What are the effects of a newborn getting multiple HepB vacs w/in 24 hours?
My son was born on 1/27 that same day he received a HepB vac (standard for all newborns according to the WHO). The nurse did not record giving it to him. I was there when she gave it to him and received an immunization record. The next afternoon, another nurse came in saying she had just given him the same vac and handed me another immunization record. The attending MD was not worried, BUT *I* am concerned about any possible future or long term effects.
I have had trouble finding info regarding this type of circumstance. The information I have found is regarding the *correct* way (schedule) to provide the immunizations. Any information regarding multiple doses (w/in 24 hours of eachother) of HepB vacs in newborns that you can provide will be appreciated.
Thanks,
M

QUESTION ABOUT THE PERTUSSIS SHOT FOR MY BABY?
Nov 10th
Question by mbk:
Question about the Pertussis shot for my baby?
I’ve heard that you can’t get the Pertussis shot individually, that you have to get it as a combined shot (DPT) Is that true?
I have my baby on a delayed and spread out immunization schedule and want to get each of these three Diptheria, Pertussis, and Tetnus separately, but now I am worried I can’t. What do you guys know?

ALTERNATE VACCINE SCHEDULE FOR THEIR BABY?
Aug 20th
Question by CM:
Alternate vaccine schedule for their baby?
Hello,
My baby is 2 mos now and he’s due for his first set of vaccines on Friday. I am a little concerned about having him receive all 6 shots at one time (based on the CDC 2009 Child & Adolescent Immunization Schedules). I am interested to learn what others have done as an alternate schedule, or learn what their pediatricians have recommended.
Thanks!
