I am 19 years old and six months pregnant. I am starting to worry about the possibility of having a down syndrome baby. I will still love my baby to death I just want to know possibilities of having one. Please serious answers only. Thank you.
Thank you everybody for answering that question for me. I know it’s most common in elderly women. It doesn’t run in my family and now that I think about it the physician did tell me everything went fine when they analyzed the baby. No need to worry now. I am happy thanks everyone.

Is giving up an infant with Down Syndrome for adoption a viable option?
Would it be possible in the US to find adoptive parents willing to take a child with Down Syndrome? I am pregnant and have not had any indication that my child might have it, but I have been thinking that if I were to find out that my child has Downs, I do not think I have the personality or resources to raise it. However I am very against abortion in almost all cases, especially for myself, and do not think I could ever abort a fetus even if it does have Downs.

I went in for my ultrasound at 19 wks and found out the baby has echoing in the heart ventricles and a cyst at base of brain. Individually, they would not be concerned, but because 2 abnormalities are present I need to go in for a level 2 ultrasound. What are my odds for having a down syndrome baby at 30 with these abnormalities being present?
