Conjunctivitis In Babies
THE PAST 2 MORNINGS, MY BABY’S EYES ARE SEALED CLOSED WITH CRUSTY GOOP. SHOULD WE BE WORRIED?
Feb 12th
Question by lillimac:
The past 2 mornings, my baby’s eyes are sealed shut with crusty goop. Should we be worried?
Our 8 month old has had a cold for 10 days and in the past two days when he wakes up on mornings, his eyes are shut shut with mucus. I have read up on viral conjunctivitis, but I am not sure if we should be worried or what else we should be doing (other than keeping them clean with warm water. We have an appointment in 2 days with his pediatrician but in the meantime would appreciate if anyone with any similar experiences could share their wisdom.

NOTHING HAS WORKED FOR MY BABIES PINK EYE :( ANYONE GO THROUGH THIS?
Jan 14th
Question by emommie:
Nothing has worked for my babies pink eye
anyone go through this?
It all started when we took him swimming. We came back home and noticed a little red broken blood vessel on the whites of his eye. I took him to the doc 3 days later because it was getting worse. Physician said he poked his eye and to just let it heal. 1 week went by and it spread to the other eye..and got very swollen (NO eye discharge though, just watery and pinkish-red). The physician told me it could be conjunctivitis. He gave me Vigamox eyedrops. I used Vigamox before when my son had a bacterial eye infection with lots of discharge and the Vigamox worked GREAT, so I was anticipating the same results. I was wrong. His eye is MUCH much worse. I am feeling so bad. I took him AGAIN to a different physician and the physician said it was viral pink eye and nothing they can do. But there must be something. I can’t sit right thinking about my poor baby boy itching his bloodshot eyes. It’s not fair. I would do anything to trade eyeballs with him. It’s making me stress so much. I am sad for him. Why is it not going away? I am continuing the drops because the physician said it doesn’t do much for viral pink eye, but if it makes me feel better, I could use it to avoid a secondary infection. But what the heck! his eyes are SOOOO red. I just want it to go away. Anyone go through this? It doesn’t seem normal that its been 2 weeks and it hasn’t gone away..just looks worse.
