QUESTION ABOUT THE MMR AND CHICKEN POX SHOTS??
Feb 15th
Question by linedancer563:
Question about the MMR and Chicken Pox Shots??
I have always followed a delayed shot schedule, mostly because I did not like the thought of giving up to 4 shots at once to my infant. So, over the months, my daughter was given all of the shots except for the MMR and the Chicken Pox Vaccine.
Today, my 20 month old finally recieved the shots. I was a little wary about it, but I knew if I did not just get them done, I would make excuse after excuse not to bring her in….LOL.
She got two shots, one in each leg. My first question is, since she received them in two different shots, that’s not the same as the MMRV, right? I have read that the combined shot has more side effects, so would I classify her as having two shots or one? (Sorry, I know I am making this confusing…)
My second questions is for the Mother’s whose kids have already had the shots. What was your childs reaction, if any. And how long did you give Tylenol/Motrin? I am planning on giving Motrin around the clock for the next 24 hours…is that too long, or not long enough??
Since my daughter was born, these have been the two shots I have been worried about the most. Any reassuring advice would be greatly appreciated.

6 WEEK OLD AND THE CHICKEN POX…HELP!?
Dec 31st
Question by Loola:
6 week old and the chicken pox…HELP!?
My sister has three children (4 year old boy, 3 year old boy, and 11 month old girl) and I have a 6 week old girl….the two boys were exposed to a child who had the chicken pox yesterday for two hours at bible school (we had no clue at the time)…I know children are vaccinated for this at one year of age and that the virus can remain dormant in children for up to two weeks before they begin to show symptoms….my mother currently watches my sister’s three children and will begin watching my baby tomorrow (for me to unfortunately return back to work)….is it safe for my mother to keep my baby with the other three or should I get someone else to watch her for two weeks until we know that this has passed? Does anyone have any advice? What affect does the chicken pox have on an infant? All advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.
It amazes me that some people just do not read the question….I have not taken my child around them….that’s why I am asking.
Yeah the boys were vaccinated against it, but I would like to know if they can still spread the virus even if they do not break out…and also is the virus still on the toys and things after the children have left? Should everything be sterilized or will that help?

Question by allieb:
Blisters on baby from chicken pox vaccine?
My 17 month old daughter had her chicken pox vaccine about a month ago. She’s had tiny blisters on her cheek this week, her neck yesterday, and now one on her lower lip. Has anyone had this experience with their baby and do you think it’s the chicken pox vaccine or something else? Thanks so much.

MY 8 YEAR OLD MAY HAVE CHICKEN POX…WHAT ARE THE CHANCES MY 3 MONTH OLD WILL GET THEM?
May 19th
Question by rubiofamily_777:
My 8 year old may have chicken pox…what are the chances my 3 month old will get them?
Also is extremely bad if my 3 month old gets them? I have no idea where my 8 year old could have picked them up…going to the DR this day to see if that’s what they are for sure, but I am so worried what will happen if my 3 month old gets them. Anyone have or know of infants who got chicken pox?
My 8 year old did get the vaccine, but only 1 so far…I think they’re supposed to get 2.
Also I have had chicken pox as a child and am breastfeeding my 3 month old…don’t know if that helps her chances?

CHICKEN POX VACCINATION FOR INFANTS?
Apr 3rd
Question by Juicey J:
Chicken Pox Vaccination for infants?
My wife said they gave our daughter a Chicken Pox vaccine today. I hate over-vaccinating kids and I wish she would have researched this more before allowing it. Neither of us knew it was on the list of things to give her (she’s 1 year old)
Help me comprehend the point of this vaccination. Getting the chicken pox is no fun, but it’s not fatal, and in most cases you never get it again. Would not you think the risk of vaccinating outweighs the risk of bad effects from chicken pox?
Help me understand
