HOW DOES ASTHMA EFFECT YOU AND YOUR BABY WHILE PREGNANT?
Feb 15th
Question by AshReneeM:
How does asthma effect you and your baby while pregnant?
This is why I am asking this : I have been feeling under the weather, so I went to the physician and I have bronchitis, which I get ALL the time. Now she’s concerned that I have asthma and that it’s just been overlooked. I go back next week for testing.

NANA FORCED PREEMIE NEWBORN (LESS THAN 9 LBS AT THE TIME) TO SUCK ON A LOLLIPOP.?
Jan 27th
Question by A_New_Grandma:
Nana forced preemie newborn (less than 9 lbs at the time) to suck on a lollipop.?
I just came across a video of my daughter in law’s easy minded mother, that showed her forcing a lollipop into my grandson’s mouth and beaming as he was sucking on it. He was born two months premature, and was less than 3 mos. old at the time, but basically his digestive system was more like a 3 week old and he weighed less than 9 pounds.
I used to babysit my grandson overnight a LOT, many time 3 days straight. I noticed that whenever he was over at the other grandparents for the day that he was a completely different child when he came back home.
He was very irritated and agitated, full of gas, crying a lot, had a hard time sleeping, etc. etc.
I asked my DIL what went on over there, as when he was here I never had any problems like those. I continually asked if they were possibly feeding him anything he should not have (i.e. giving him tastes of their food, feeding him baby food, etc.) and was told that she specifically told NOT to give him anything so she did not think they were. But then again, she was given baked beans at 3 days of age, her brother was put on whole milk at 3 days (because formula was too expensive) and a one month old in the family was being given pieces of chicken nuggets, Dimetapp was routinely used on most babies in the family after shots were given (to help them sleep) so there was no telling what they were doing to/with him.
I kept track of how he did whenever he was over there for the day and finally told my son that there was definitely something going on, it was NOT just a coincidence that he came home a completely different baby. EVERY TIME he was over there he came home distressed. EVERY SINGLE TIME. She then told me that maybe it was just because he may be over exhausted because he was not getting naps because too many people were always handling him, etc.
Well, the other day I was given a video of him that was taken back in May, showing the other grandmother forcing a lollipop into the babies mouth. Even when he turned his head, she would continually put the sucker back in his mouth, and she was very proud of what she was doing.
What person in there right mind would decide to have a less than 9 pound preemie suck on a lollipop? I just cannot being to comprehend that. And if they were doing that, it certainly makes me wonder about what other stupid things they were doing to that poor little helpless, defenseless newborn baby. She may very well have just given him teaspoons of sugar, as that is all a lollipop is made of.
Nearly every member of that family (both sides) have some kind of problem and many have asthma attacks that are caused by food allergies. Gee, I cannot envision why.
Whenever I expressed my concern over them doing something completely stupid I was told that “oh, they did that with all the children and we turned out fine.” What? No, they did not turn out FINE, they may be ALIVE, but that’s basically about it.
Has anyone heard of people doing this at that age? And what kind of problems can overloading a newborn with sugar cause?

BABIES AND ASTHMA?????????
Dec 20th
Question by Mummy of baby boy:
Babies and asthma?????????
My son is 6 months and has just been prescribed a inhaler (reliever – blue one) due to him being wheezing with no chest infection, the physicians are not sure if it is or not but they want to see if its helps and i have got to go back in 2 weeks. Does anyone know if when i use the inhaler the wheezing should go away straight away or does it take a little while of using it first?
Thanks
No orange pump yet they wanted to try just the blue one first, but i am just concerned because it doesnt seem to really releive the wheezing.

MY WIFE CAUGHT OUT BABY SITTER ‘BREAST FEEDING’ OUR NEWBORN ?
Dec 16th
Question by Mr Smelly Pants:
my wife caught out baby sitter ‘breast feeding’ our newborn ?
so she tells me.
im getting VERY VERY annoyed with these ‘fantasy tales’ that she keeps making up.
she told me she saw her sitting onthe rocking chair, with her blouse down – nursing our newborn.
I could not believe this.
such lengths a wife goes to, just to engage a young 19 yr old girl (our sweet caring baby sitter) in a petty ‘its my baby not yours’ fight.
why wont my wife grow up and stop being such a dumb a55 ???
secondly, allowed – shes had a previous case of severe depression ( her sister passed away 8 months ago) and then my wife tried to slit her own wrists – at that time I did what any caring husband would do , which was to refer her to a mental asylum.
there , unfortunately her condition simply ‘worsened’.
I do so much for her, assitance wise.
why does she keep going to considerable lengths to make up these disgusting stories – LIES – about a young girl who is , clearly doing BETTER , than she is – at raising our baby ?
im not saying shes a replacement – but at the rate of mental degradation my wife is going thru, im afraid I may have no other choice but to re-admit her to that mental hospital.
She needs help.
my wife is SICK.
shes having ‘delusions’ and clearly nobody breast feeds my baby other than my wife – but my wife insists shes caught her on three occasions, nursing our newborn.
this morning my couldnt find her asthma pump – and when she found it, it was empty.
it was in her drawer in her bedroom.
but my wife persists, the ashtma pump was in her CAR – and that clearly somebody had found her keys and gained access to it, and moved it.
i think shes delusional and is clearly in need of dire help.
i do love my wife, but i feel like shes making up these ‘fantasy stories’ too often.

DO HEALTH PROBLEMS ARISE FROM DOG SLEEPING IN ROOM WITH NEWBORN?
Oct 6th
Question by anthony51esp:
Do health problems arise from dog sleeping in room with newborn?
I am currently still in a one bedroom apartment. My dog has always slept in the corner in her doggy bed. My 3 week old daughter is right next to me in a bassinet. I am curious to know if the dog being in such close proximity can cause future health problems…like asthma. My mom came to visit me and was very upset that the dog still slept in the room with us.
The crib is 6 weeks late but baby will be in a crib very shortly.

INFANT WITH ASTHMA WAKES UP WITH DARK BROWN FLUID AROUND HIS MOUTH. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Oct 6th
Question by imkameal:
Infant with asthma wakes up with dark brown fluid around his mouth. What does this mean?
He was just diagnosed and he’s 13 months old. The first inhaler he was given hasn’t really worked too well. It was a non-steroidal one. Therefore his physician just perscribed another kind of inhaler for him (steroidal) and he takes one puff in the AM and one puff in the PM. The MD said it’ll take a few weeks for us to see an improvement. Anyway, his asthma is worse at night so we have to wake him up every few hours for his inhaler. We have noticed brown fluid around his mouth when he wakes up and this day his daycare told us they noticed the same. I am really panicking and plan on taking him to see his pediatrician tomorrow. Has anyone ever experienced this before? BTW, The fluid is a dark brown color and sometimes it’s dried around his mouth….kinda looks like someone who was eating chocolate.
