WHEN TO STOP STERLIZING BABY PLASTIC BOTTLES, NIPPLES, AND RINGS.?
Oct 29th
Question by Tootie:
When to stop sterlizing baby plastic bottles, nipples, and rings.?
I have been using Avent IQ24 steamer to sterlize my baby plastic/glass bottles, nipples and rings. I am worried the nipples and rings will leak out the chemical. I was wondering if I need to sterlize each time I use them or just the first time. After that, can I just wish the with hot water will do. Any suggestions.

WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY VERY PICKY EATER?
Oct 29th
Question by Linotte:
What to do about my very picky eater?
My daughter is 10 months old and the pickiest eater. I feed her three times a day but I am lucky if she will eat at least one of those meals halfway. I have tried everything. When she first turned six months, I made her homemade purees and she rejected them a lot. I then tried store bought purees and she ate them superior but still rejected them more often than not. Than I tried giving her fist sized chopped veggies and fruits that she can pick up herself. She will throw most of them off her highchair and put only a few in her mouth. Very often, however, she will choke on them and end up throwing upmost of what she has eaten. People told me choking rarely happens with a self-feeding baby but it happens a lot with my baby. She is a great nurser but she is approaching 1 year of age and a person can’t live only on breastmilk forever. She used to be consistently in the 95 percentile for weight but now she has dropped to 80th (which is not a lot because she is over 99 for height).

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS ABOUT HOW TO START BOTTLE-FEEDING A 4-MONTH OLD BABY BREAST-MILK?
Oct 25th
Question by DuDu:
Do you have any tips about how to start bottle-feeding a 4-month old baby breast-milk?
I need to go back to work, and at least need to be out about 6 hours, so I need to store some breast-milk and let my mother to use bottle to feed my baby. Does any one know any good tips about how to get a 4 months baby to be used to bottle-feeding. I tried several times, but it seems hard. He cried a lot. Also, I tried different teats and bottles.

ARE OR WERE YOUR CHILDREN PICKY EATERS? DID YOU GET THEM TO OVERCOME THIS? DO YOU HAVE…?
Oct 5th
Question by venous:
ARE OR WERE YOUR CHILDREN PICKY EATERS? did you get them to overcome this? do you have…?
…experiences & advice to share?
oh yes we have all been down this road… funny my oldest was very picky and sometimes would get a case of “Lock Jaw”… as an infant… about 4mos he would take one bite and somehow would accomplish the impossible.. chewing without swallowing… next time he tried this… i just put his food away.. tried again at lunch.. same results… and by the time dinner rolled around.. no problem… he ate.. my youngest was never picky… he ate everything.. i started to let them explore feeding themselves at 5mos… they were developing quite fast and were able to sit..it seemed to work better… at one point my youngest would just have a preference for peanut butter… my pediatrician check him over and said not to worry… of course i kept regular visits to the physicians when they would have these spells..
what were your experiences with “picky eaters” how did you help them overcome this habit? how long did it go on? if you are a grandparent… do your grands do this too?
care to share?

IS IT FAIR TO LET A TODDLER SELF-FEED IF HE/SHE IS A PICKY EATER?
Sep 12th
Question by A W:
Is it fair to let a toddler self-feed if he/she is a picky eater?
I know it is popular to instruct babies to feed themselves by the age of 2 years, but what if they are picky eaters and choose to avoid the veggies? Would not it make sense for the parent to maintain some control over the toddler’s feeding rituals? What do you think?
