WHAT DO YOU GIVE YOU FINGER FEEDING BABY?
May 11th
Question by :
What do you give you finger feeding baby?
I used to make all my son’s food with a food processor. Now that he refuses to “be fed” I am running out of ideas on what to feed him and I think he’s getting a little bored. For example, when I would food process his food, a sweet potato would last weeks because I had a huge variety of food to give him. Now, I just can’t give him just one veggie so it doesn’t go bad. Lately, I have been giving him turkey lunch meat, cheese, bread, fruit, steamed veggies, and whole wheat noodles. Breakfasts are usually an egg yolk or bananas with toast. I made him a grilled cheese this day and he literally inhaled it which made me think he was bored with the current menu. I like giving him really healthy food because me and daddy lost a lot of weight before we had him and have a tendency to be heavier so I do not want him getting used to eating grilled cheese and french fries every day and have the same problems we did and I want him to be used to our eating habits and not be a picky eater. He can eat just about anything now except citrus, nuts, and shellfish because we have not fed him that yet. But I would also like something somewhat quick to prepare so he doesn’t fill up on puffs before I get his meal prepared. Dinners aren’t that much of a problem because I just make a smaller portion of what we eat. But for the rest of the day, I rarely eat meals. I just snack all day. I know this is a long explanation but I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

And maybe how to get him to sleep? He cries a lot.

NEED HELP WITH PICKY EATER?
Apr 17th
Question by alisha#1:
Need Help with Picky Eater?
I have a 14 month baby girl. She is So picky when it comes to eating. She is a breastfed only baby. Up until one month ago she only ate from the breast. With teething she would not accept anything else. I talked to her pediatrician in regards to devising a plan to get her off the breast. I have tried all of his suggestion. Nothing works. I am looking to try to go back to work in 2 months. I need for my husband to be able to watch her. However, she refuses everything that is not the breast. She will not drink anything accept water from the cup. I have been force feeding her 2 a day for a couple of days now. Finally, she has caught on a decided to keep her mouth open and not swallow. She cries through every feeding session from beginning to end. I have tried feeding her with her favorite show on. That help for a little while and then she did not care anymore. I have tried feeding her at various times of the day, before breastfeeding, and after breastfeeding. I have tried all and any food….baby food, finger foods, vegetables (various ways) table food. The only thing she will eat and will not protest is fruit, Popsicles, dry Cheerios, and crackers. Please help. Any recommendation at this point is welcomed. And she does to poly-vitamins (liquid) with iron. So, she is getting her vitamins. I know I will not get a eating cure overnight. I am looking for a plan that will keep her interested in food enough for me to wean her.
she never took to bottle. and honestly I am ok with that because she drinks out a cup just find

FOR MOMMIES OF INFANTS (AROUND 10 MONTHS OLD): CAN YOU GIVE ME AN EXAMPLE OF YOUR BABY’S FEEDING SCHEDULE?
Apr 11th
Question by Blessed:
For mommies of infants (around 10 months old): Can you give me an example of your baby’s feeding schedule?
My ten-month old has just starting eating more solids-finally three meals a day. I give her a bottle before each meal because otherwise I do not think she drinks enough. I try to get her to drink at least 24 ounces of formula per day. I know that once she turns one year old, she should get most of her nutrition from solids rather than formula, so I would like to gradually ease her into that transition. Can you give me an example of your feeding schedule, and any other tips on solids vs. formula? And what about teething cookies? Good snack?

IS MY 8 MONTH OLD A PICKY EATER?
Mar 25th
Question by Lil’s Mommy:
Is my 8 month old a picky eater?
I can’t seem to get my daughters dinner time on a regular schedule. Some days she decides she wants to eat other days she nibbles. She loves to feed herself she’ll eat her fruit, and her snacks; but when it comes to dinner time it is a whole different story. She plays and spits her food out. Any sugggestions from anyone on how you handled this situation? I know all babies are not the same, she’s not under weight sometimes I feel like I am doing something wrong.

SISTER REFUSES TO FEED INFANT MORE THAN 4OZ BECAUSE “SHES GETTING FAT”.?
Mar 25th
Question by wazzzup:
Sister refuses to feed infant more than 4oz because “shes getting fat”.?
My sister recently visited me (she has a 1 month old girl) and she has a past of un-diagnosed anorexia (she is obsessed with her own weight, starving herself to lose weight, etc).
Earlier in the day she told me that she thought the baby was “getting fatter”. That night I offered to take her for the night so my sister could get some rest and my sister refused (even though she was exhausted). The next morning, i saw a bottle of water sitting next to her bassinette, and when giving her a bath my sister pinched the babys sides and said “See, shes getting bigger”
It didnt occur to me until after she left what was going on. My sister refused to give the baby more than 4 oz. of formula every 4 hours, and gave her only water after that if she was fussy because she feels shes “getting fat”.
My questions are:
If I make a call to her physician (whom I know very well) and just make an anonymous tip/tell him whats going on, do you think he would listen?
Also shes getting food, so if C&Y got involved, I know they wouldnt find anything because shes eating- just not enough. Shes always fussy and sucks SO fast when she gets her bottle- shes hungry!. Ive tried explaining this to my sister but she just wont listen & would rather give the baby water. Trying to explain to her the horrible nutrition aspect would be like trying to nail jello to a tree.
I dont know what to do….
