WHAT WASHING DETERGENT DO YOU USE FOR NEWBORN?
Question by Miss X:
What washing detergent do you use for newborn?
My husband suffered from really bad eczema as a child, his other daughter has mild eczema and i have a lot of eczema/asthma sufferers on my side of the family.. obviously there will be no guarantee what worked for some people will work for my newborn.. but some recommendations would be useful.. so i can try some different ones see what works best… And do i need to use softner???? if so which softner is going to be best?
Answer by Turtle Heart
I used Dreft detergent which is made for newborns and sensitive skin. Be careful useing softner they usually have a lot of scent and other things that can irritate sensitive skin.
Answer by Brittany
Dreft is the ideal you can get for newborns…..that is what my parents used for my brother and I and that is what I used for my daughter.
Answer by Amberlori
You probably would like to try using some of the Natural/Green detergents out there.
Not sure where you are located, but I know here (in British Columbia, Canada) I use both the “Seventh Generation” and the “Attitude” brands without any issues. They are fragrance and chemical free and should be good for the eczema sufferers as well as your baby’s sensitive skin.
As for softener. Totally not. There is no reason to use softener at all. Get a couple of those dryer balls, they fluff up the clothes and keep the static down. Throw away the dryer sheets as well. Full of skin irritating chemicals.

Question by lysistrata411: What are the best fitted cloth diapers for a newborn? What do you prefer? I am not going to use prefolds and like something with velcro or snaps already attached. I heard fitteds are better for newborns, but honestly have no clue since I have only experimented with AIOs with my son
