Question by Nelle – Keeley is now 1!:
When you get your newborn home, what sleeping problems did you encounter?

Hello there ladies. Hope you’re having a good morning/afternoon!

Just curious, I am 35 Weeks 5 Days pregnant and due to get induced on the 29th of October – if I can make it that far! (On medication to try stop contractions and OBGYN is hoping I can make it to 37 Weeks)

What I was curious about was since it is only a matter of weeks until we have our little one here, I wonder what problems I might come up against when it comes to settling our baby for sleep during the night.

How do you overcome these problems? Does your baby have trouble sleeping and if so what were the reasons you found it was due to?

If it helps for you to know, I plan to breastfeed (milk has already come in – colostrum) and my husband is a light sleeper so just curious as to what we could come against in a normal night. So we’re prepared.

Also the baby’s nursery is set up in our bedroom and the baby will be sleeping in the cot which we have a newborn support for him/her to go in.

Sorry if this question is broad but any input on how your newborn sleeps/slept and what problems you encountered, or just the usual amount of feeds (not problems! – just expected stuff) you experienced would help give me an idea of what we could expect. Thank you!

Everyone is different good news is though you just get into the zone and just manage if your breastfeeding you will feed on demand so you will be up every 2-3 hours at most but seriously you manage its all a bit of a daze and you will just need to nap in the days alot.
