Question by Emma’s Mommy:
What is a normal underarm temperature for an infant?

Hi,
I have a 6 week old baby that has been fussy this day so I took her temperature under the arm and it was 98.1, but my mother said that I have to add a degree, which would mean that it is 99.1. Is not that a low-grade fever? I know I am probably being paranoid, but this is my first baby and I would rather be too cautious than not cautious enough. Thanks! :)

She means add 0.1 degree. so your baby would have a temp of 98.2. And you aren’t suppose to worry until your baby has a fever of 102. Then you may give him/her Tylenol.
